Donald Swimm is one of the Virgin Island's favorite snowbird artists. He migrates between Gloucester, Massachusetts and St. Thomas where he is inspired by seascapes, underwater themes and sunsets. Don also enjoys working on commissions for islanders and Gloucesterites who value his impression of tropical light.

Don's current passion is what he calls "color on color". By layering one color on top of another he creates a rich density of hue and he will often mix base pigments into his paint to get the deep intensity he desires.

For the most part, Don has developed his own artistic skills, yet he ows some of his proficiency to studying in America and Europe with modern masters like Joseph Correalle and Ali Sadeghpour.
